I’m James Kuang. Born in China, I grew up in the DFW area. I’m now based in Denver/Boulder. After graduating from CU Boulder Leeds school of Business with an MBA in 2025, I realized that I needed to do something creative to find fulfillment in my life. I now specialize in natural light, environmental portraiture, and event photography.

My approach is to find the small moments where my subjects are expressing themselves honestly. I find the most joy in bringing out in my work those little details that let my clients feel seen as their authentic selves.
